A Bandys Band Chaperone is an adult who travels with students or is assigned to supervise a group of students for any length of time.
Chaperones play an essential role in ensuring student safety, organization, and support during all band events and trips.
Chaperones must:
- Submit a Volunteer Application through the Catawba County Schools (CCS) website.

- Pay the $21.95 fee, which includes the required background check.
- Upload a copy of your Secure Volunteer Card to the Chaperone Forms section of the store once your background check is approved.
- Note that Secure Volunteer Cards are valid for 2 years.
- Cover any personal costs associated with the trip or event.
- Understand that some chaperone opportunities have limited availability and are filled on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
Bus Transportation:
Each bus requires 2–3 chaperones in addition to the driver to ensure student supervision and safety during travel.
Overnight Trips:
Chaperones attending overnight events are responsible for:
- Verifying that room check‑in is complete
- Ensuring students are in their assigned rooms
- Monitoring that students are where they are supposed to be
- Supporting student safety and accountability throughout the trip
Note: All adults who work directly with students are required to maintain an active CCS volunteer application and upload a valid, non‑expired Secure Volunteer Card to BoosterHub.
